(October 28, 2022, Arbaminch) Ethiopian Cities Association (ECA) in collaboration with Ministry of Urban and Infrastructure conducts a two days’ workshop on the concept of Smart City and Urban Observatory at Arbaminch city in Haile Resort.

H.E. Ato Fenta Dejen, State Minister of MoUI on his opening speech remarks that the development of cities in Ethiopia is growing year to year and by now around 1500 new cities are created in the last 10 years.

According to the State Minister, the numbers of residents in the cities are growing enormously and service delivering in municipalities is more complex and hence implementing smart cities concepts is timely  and that is why this panel discussion is prepared and will have result on eliminating the day to day problems of cities.

On the other hand, Ethiopian Cities Association Director General Ato Andualem Tenaw on his part said that the Association is trying its best to capacitate its member cities’ mayors on different urban development issues.
