(October 16, 2023, Addis Ababa) Ethiopian Cities Association (ECA) and the Federal Ministry of Urban and Infrastructure have signed a memorandum of understanding that will allow them to work together in the field of urban development here in Addis Ababa at the ministry office hall today.

State Minister of the Ministry of Urban and Infrastructure, H.E Ato Fenta Dejen, and the Director General of ECA, Mr. Andualem Tenaw, signed the agreement.

The Honorable W/ro Chaltu Sani, Minister of the Ministry of Urban and Infrastructure, who was present at the signing of this agreement, said that the urban development agenda is one of the priority development agendas in our country. She added that the importance of being able to make an agreement with ECA is significant so as to accomplish the development works of our cities successfully.

On the other hand, Honorable Ato Fanta Dejen remarked that the Ministry has prepared many platforms in the field of urban development with ECA and now this MoU will make our cities more beneficiaries as there are plans to make our cities clean and green, suitable for living, comfortable and inclusive.

On his part, the Director General of ECA, Ato Andualem Tenaw, recalled that the Ministry and ECA have been working together by creating new and up-to-date urban development agendas and transferring knowledge by using platforms and now framing this with Memorandum of Understanding is important in order to continue this activity in sustainable way.
